Lena Williams RGN, Head of Clinic

bb_spdc_photo_04_careLena has been the Head of the Clinic since it started early in 2007. She has a wealth of experience in the nursing field including orthopaedics and wound management.
Lena is warm and friendly and encourages a dynamic atmosphere in which patients are better able to meet their rehabilitation goals.

Martin van Heerden, Physiotherapy Manager

bb_spdc_photo_06_martinMartin specialises in orthopaedic rehabilitation, working with patients with musculoskeletal issues including foot, ankle, shoulder and spine. He is also a specialist in the use of hydrotherapy as well as treating people with positional vertigo and those who need vestibular rehabilitation.

Following his graduation as a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Pretoria, Martin spent a year running the physiotherapy department in a small mining town hospital, somewhere in deepest darkest Southern Africa. He then started and managed a successful private physiotherapy practice before relocating to the UK.

During his time in South Africa he worked at the Comrades Marathon and with the South African Gladiators. He also found time to obtain his Post Graduate certificate in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy.

Martin was a figure skater who competed at national level. The skates have been hung up and he now enjoys the occasional run when not busy with DIY or gardening.

Trevayne Cox, Senior Physiotherapist

bb_spdc_photo_02_travayneTrevayne specialises in orthopaedic rehabilitation, back and neck, hyperventilation and energy medicine. Previously she has worked as a senior orthopaedic physiotherapist at the QEII Hospital in Welwyn Garden City.

She has published a book entitled "Dance with Depression" and has a Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy from Queen Elizabeth School of Physiotherapy, Birmingham (1980).

Daphna Sharf-Razin MA OT, Occupational Therapist

bb_spdc_photo_11_daphnaDaphna specialises in falls management among older adults which covers assessment, education and home modifications, particularly with people with dementia.

She splits her time between the Clinic and The Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth.

Her impressive education includes a Masters in Occupational Therapy, New York University, a Masters in Dance/ Movement Therapy, Hahnemann University, Philadelphia, and a BA in Political Science, Haifa University, Israel. During her BA studies she worked as an academic assistant to a soldier who had suffered a head injury, and assisted him in completing his BA degree.
